| Sydney and Marian wait for us at The Rose and Crown pub not far from their house. | A lovely pub sign. |

| The Rose and Crown is a lovely old-fashioned neighborhood pub. This is the little bar. | We lunched and chatted on an August day. |

| The Thos. Peatling wine merchant shop was near the Rose and Crown, so we made a stop. | After we inspected the ground floor showroom of Peatling's, we toured the cellars. |

Wines in racks, wine in gift boxes. Wine everywhere.
|
The wines behind that gate were the most interesting, just because they were locked up behind that gate. |

| Here we all are, the four, friends for fifteen years. It was a busy and fun visit in 2007. | |

| We returned to Tostock to spend some time at Sandlappers with also fifteen-year friends Margaret and Lionel. Margaret suggested The Pykkerell in the village of Ixworth for dinner. | The Pykkerell is a very old inn. The opening at the left originally led to the inn courtyard. Once it stabled horses, now it is a car park. |

| One of the dining rooms at the Pykkerell is done as a charming library. | A medieval or Tudor fireplace graces the diningrooms' service bar area. |

| We had a lovely leisurely dinner in the charming old inn, and a quiet evening at home with Lionel and Margaret. It was a very pleasant way to spend our last evening in Suffolk. | |
| Back to Bramhall, Cheshire, England | |

| We went by coach from Bury-St.-Edmunds to our anchor home-away-from-home near Manchester Airport, Moss Deeping Guest House in Bramhall. | The next day was spent the day running errands in Bramhall and repacking. We met Gill and her daughter Jenna, friends from our last trip to England, at a coffee shop in Bramhall in late afternoon. We enjoyed a long tea and chat and caught up on each other's lives. |

| I spent the evening working on the Postcards from Britain in our room in Moss Deeping. | Bob leans out the window at Moss Deeping. He's checking the rainy weather on the morning of our departure for the U.S. |
