| We left Tostock for a while, and went back to The Glen in Bury St. Edmunds. | When we were at the mill with our kids, I didn't get inside. I was busy with the picnic. We've come back to spend some time, now. Syd Rutland, who volunteers there, was our guide. |

| Some boys watch flour pour from the chute into the brown bag. The mill sells the flour it grinds. | Upstairs, Bob studies the process that delivers the wheat to the milling stones. |

| Here's the water wheel again. I never had been this close to a water wheel before. They are always outside in the stream. | Syd and Bob pause by the mill pond. |

Those are the tables where we had our big picnic at Packenham Mill in July.
|
The Suffolk Preservation Trust, of which Syd is a member, recently purchased the miller's house. It was in private hands for many years. They are raising money to repair and restore the building. |

| The view of the pond from the above room. Makes me want to move right in. | The kitchen of the miller's house also has a wonderful view of the pond and parkland. |

| A capacious oven is built into the side of the fireplace. There is another oven, and also a warm shelf beside the fireplace to brew your ale. | The mill is the far building. The closer building is the miller's house. It's a big house!
Goodbye to Pakenham Mill again...until next time. |
